1. WEDNESDAY MORNING SEWING

Join Kathleen Molitor or Sandy Boyd for a morning of sewing, camaraderie, learning, and problem solving.  Bring in the project you’re working on and make some progress!   We meet the first four Wednesdays of each month.  Please call ahead to see if there’s space available.
Classes are held Wednesday mornings, 10-12:30.  $15 per session or $50 for each month   

2. HOOP IT UP!

Jump into sewing machine embroidery!  Learn how to correctly hoop the fabric or garment, select the appropriate stabilizer, position the embroidery, choose bobbin and top threads, and get going!  This is for folks new to machine embroidery or just timid about going forth.  Bring your embroidery machine and any threads, stabilizers and designs you already own – but don’t buy anything yet.  $28, or free for new owners of Husqvarna Viking embroidery machines.

3. TOOTHBRUSH RUG

Here’s an old-fashioned technique to make wonderful accent rugs that last practically forever. (Sandy has one still in good shape after over 20 years!)  Toothbrush rugs are similar to braided rugs but they’re easier to make and they won’t come apart.  Use up stash fabrics that you bought with great plans that never happened.   Our new team member, Angie Herrington, will teach.  $25 plus supplies

4. PINEAPPLE QUILT

Traditional quilters love this block quilt – and contemporary quilters love the graphic design!  Join B.Anne Greene and make a sassy classic Pineapple Quilt.  Select scrappy or coordinated colors, start it small and make it grow.  It can look very classic or quite contemporary, and it’s fun to make.  Just wait till you see B.Anne’s huge and beautiful sample! $76 plus supplies

5. SEWING FOR ROOKIES: MAKE A WRAP SKIRT

6. VIKING OWNER’S CLASS

Get to know your amazing Husqvarna Viking sewing machine better, whether it’s new to you or has been your friend for a while.  We’ll learn about seams and edge finishes, buttons and buttonholes, hems, stretchy seams, sewing on heavy fabrics, accessory feet – and tons more surprising things we can show you.  We haven’t been wasting our time for 30 years – we know some tricks!  We promise to teach you something new or we buy the ice cream!  $43 or free if you’ve purchased your Viking from us within the past year.  (We’ll ask you to pay for the class and get a $43 gift certificate when you finish.)

7. “ARC-I-TEXTURES”

Spiral off into a quilting adventure with Terry Lee!  Combine wildly different fabrics that as a “fabric junkie” you have accumulated, and learn to do circular couching.  We’ll make a table runner in class.   When you find out how fun and easy this is, you’ll be addicted!  $43 plus supplies

8. QUILTING BY MACHINE

Quilting by machine is beautiful, efficient, modern, practical, and satisfying to do.  Tips, techniques, and tools will make your machine quilting more enjoyable and prettier.  Learn about walking feet and free motion stitching, layering and pinning or spray basting, choices of threads, battings, and designs.  Join Sandy for a fun day that will improve your quilting life forever!    $43 plus kit   Sunday, October 5, 10:30-5pm

9. TRADITIONAL CATHEDRAL WINDOW QUILT

Hand sewers arise!  This quilt has gratified generations of quilters, using bits of fabric and bits of time to produce heirlooms.  (It’s amazing what you can produce with just a few minutes spent every day!)  Angie Herrington will teach you this classic technique.  $28 plus supplies  Wednesday afternoon, October 8, 2-4:30pm

10. KIDS CAN SEW – READY FOR MORE

This class is for previous students of Patt Jones, or kids ages 9 and up with some sewing experience.   New skills will be introduced and used in a little more complex projects.  Sewing is fun and you can make cool stuff!  $50 plus supplies

11. QUILTING FOR BEGINNERS, FROM BEGINNING TO END

Learn correct quilting techniques from Kathleen Molitor in this three-day class.  It includes rotary cutting, precision seaming, block assembly and squaring up, basic machine quilting, and binding.   Learn the whole system and banish bad habits!  This great class has launched many a competent quilter!  $106 plus supplies

16. “STASH BOX” QUILT

Raid your stash for a variety of gorgeous fabrics, or come choose new ones.  You could use a collection of batiks or florals, orientals, brights, or geometrics.  Cut them up, border them with a striking coordinating color, and you’ve got a striking quilt top!  Have fun with Kathleen with this project.    $68 plus supplies

17. MAGIC STACK ‘N’ WHACK

You’ve been asking for this class and here it is!   Robin Dillon Zupancic will teach you to make this modern classic quilt, using the book by Bethany Reynolds, Magic Stack ‘n’ Whack.  You will select a large print multi-colored fabric and make hexagonal blocks of all the same fabric.  The fun part is that no two blocks will look alike, and you never quite know how each will turn out.  The suspense is crazy!  $76 plus supplies

18. LITTLE FABRIC LANDSCAPES

19. SEW A LACY SCARF WITH FANCY FIBERS, YARNS AND THREADS
